Decks, Rough Roots, Mustang, Yukon & the OKC Metro

Ground-level platforms, elevated decks and multi-level outdoor spaces. We build decks that extend your home's living area into the yard, with proper framing, clean finish work and materials that hold up through Oklahoma's heat, wind and freeze cycles.

What We Build

Ground-Level Decks

Low-profile platforms built close to grade. Clean lines, proper drainage slope and solid joist framing. Great for patios, hot tub pads and backyard entertaining areas.

Elevated Decks

Raised deck builds with engineered footings, ledger board connections and code-compliant railing. Designed for homes with grade changes or walk-out basements.

Multi-Level Decks

Tiered deck designs that create defined zones for dining, lounging and grilling. Stairs, transitions and railing all built as one cohesive structure.

Composite + Wood Options

We build with pressure-treated lumber, cedar and composite decking. Each material has trade-offs, we'll help you pick based on budget, maintenance and look.

Railing + Stairs

Custom railing systems, stair builds and landing platforms. Code-compliant and built to match the deck's design and your home's style.

Deck Resurfacing

Replacing worn deck boards, tightening framing and updating railing on existing structures. A practical way to extend the life of a deck without a full rebuild.

How We Work

  1. We evaluate the site, discuss how you want to use the space and review material and sizing options. Budget and scope are addressed up front.
  2. We finalize the deck plan, footprint, height, material, railing style and stair layout. Permits are pulled where required.
  3. Footings are set, framing goes up level and square and decking is installed with consistent spacing and clean cuts.
  4. Railing, stairs, trim and any staining or sealing. Final walkthrough and cleanup before you use the space.

Why Rough Roots

A deck is only as good as its frame. We build with proper joist spacing, solid ledger connections and footings that don't shift. The surface looks great because the structure underneath is right.

Deck questions homeowners ask

What deck material works best in Oklahoma?

It depends on your priorities. Cedar looks great and weathers naturally. Composite is low-maintenance but costs more upfront. Pressure-treated is the most affordable and performs well with proper care. Rough Roots can walk you through the trade-offs.

How long does a deck build take?

Most residential decks take 1-3 weeks depending on size, complexity and permitting. We'll give you a realistic timeline before work begins.

How much does a new deck cost?

Pricing depends on size, material, height, railing and site conditions. The best next step is to request a free estimate so we can scope the project properly.

Can you repair or resurface an existing deck?

Yes. If the framing is still solid, resurfacing with new boards and updated railing can extend the life of the deck significantly.
